Vintage Omega Seamaster ST 166.0211 from 1976, it is an unusual shape, pretty funky from the ‘Supersonic’ decade, 20 microns of 18K gold plate over stainless steel, it is not everyone’s cup of tea, but I am quite fond of it. Back in the day these were more expensive that the stainless steel partner, but the stainless steel models tend to command more money on the Vintage Omega markets of today
This one comes with the original signed crown, and original plexi-glass crystal which has the Omega logo in the center. This model has the 1020 movement, 17 Jewel Automatic day/date complication.
The stainless steel back-case has the beautiful and famous Omega Seamasters emblem. “A Seahorse emblem has graced the casebacks of since 1958 as a symbol for water-resistance, and is now one of the best-known trademarks in the world of watches. The logo was conceived by engraver Jean-Pierre Borle, who was inspired in Venice by an image of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, driving a chariot pulled by seahorses,this is why the Omega seahorses wear bridles.”
